- SHOOTING AND LIGHTING DOCUMENTARY WORKSHOP
for beginners - 2 Day Weekend Workshop
- The Shooting and Lighting Documentary workshop for beginners will be hands on. At the end of the workshop you will have confidence to start shooting your own documentaries.
- Hands on two different documentary camera packages: The very poplar Standard Definition Panasonic DVX100B camcorder package and the High Definition Panasonic HDX900 camcorder package. Overview of equipment, camera setup, frame rates, time code, Lens, depth of field, video monitors, tripods, and more.
- Documentary Cinema Verite shooting techniquies. The art of handling camera movements and interview framing setups.
- Basic interview lighting and available lighting techniques for documentary films. Overview of Kino Flo, Arri, Chimera light kits and grip equipment. Hands on indoor interview and available lighting outdoor interview setup with light kits, grip kit, video monitor and camera package.
- Basic sound recording for documentary films. Overview of sound equipment. Hands on boom mic and wireless lavaliere mics techniques. Recording sound as a one person crew or working with a field sound recordists.
- How to travel with equipment. What you need and don't need to start shooting your own documentary.
- Workshops are based on my availability. Seating would be limited to 8 students only.
